Quizzeria

The competition aims at providing a platform for the participants to exhibit their knowledge beyond their academic syllabi. It is a quick and fun way of testing an individual’s literary and language-based skills and aiding in inculcating team spirit amongst the participants.

Eligible Grades: IX-XII

Rules: A team of 3 students from each school. Selection round will have MCQs on the syllabus given below. It will be a pen and paper test. Top five schools will go to the final round There would be total five rounds.

Syllabus - Questions will be based on Shakespeare and his writings, Poets of the Romantic Era and their writings, Vocabulary, Proverbs and Idioms and Phrases.
Any unfair means used will disqualify the team from the competition.

Round-1 (Shakespeare and his writings)

Each team will be asked 2 questions
Time Limit – 20 seconds per question
Marks Allotted – 10 Marks for correct answer & 0 marks for wrong answer

Round-2 (Poets of the Romantic Era and their writings: William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Percy Bysshe Shelley, John Keats, William Blake and Robert Frost)

Each team will be asked 2 questions
Time Limit – 20 seconds per question
Marks Allotted – 10 Marks for correct answer & 0 marks for wrong answer

Round-3 (Proverbs)

Each team will be asked 2 questions
Time Limit – 20 seconds per question
Marks Allotted – 10 Marks for correct answer & 0 marks for wrong answer

Round-4 (Guess the Idiom)

Pictorial representations of idioms will be shown to the participants and they’ll have to guess the idiom.
Each team will be asked 2 questions
Time Limit – 20 seconds per question
Marks Allotted – 10 Marks for correct answer & 0 marks for wrong answer

Round-5 (Taboo)

Cue cards with the word to be guessed and the list of taboo words will be given to one of the members of the team. The other two members will guess the word based on the hints provided by the 1st member.
Each team will guess 2 words.
Time Limit - 60 seconds per word.
Marks Allotted – 10 Marks for correct answer & 0 marks for wrong answer.
