SAVE-A-BIZ

Save-A-Biz offers students an opportunity to analyze why businesses fail, propose solutions, and develop actionable strategies. Participants showcase entrepreneurial thinking skills by identifying what failing companies could have done differently and suggesting remedies. Finalists pitch their ideas to a panel of judges.

Eligibility:

• Grade: XI and XII

• Number of Participants: Team of 2

​

Guidelines:

The Competition will be held in two rounds:

Round 1: Online Submissions

Choose a failed business from the given list and create a PowerPoint presentation covering:

  • Overview of the business

  • Identification of the causes of company's failure.

  • Industry analysis (competition and target market)

  • Development of a novel and practical action plan based on financial feasibility.

  • Submission Deadline: 26th September, 2025

Round 2: Shortlisting and Final Presentations

  • 10 presentations will be shortlisted from the received submissions.

  • The selected teams will present their ideas to a panel of judges offline, on the day of the event i.e. 11th October, 2025.

  • Shortlisted teams will be informed via mail from the SHISFEST organizing team by 3rd October 2025.

Judgment Criteria for final presentation:

  • Issue Identification: Effectiveness in identifying the root causes of the company's failure.

  • Originality and Creativity: Uniqueness and innovativeness of the proposed solutions.

  • Financial Feasibility: Practicality of implementing the solutions based on the company’s resources and financing plans.

  • Presentation: Overall effectiveness of the pitch, including teamwork and smooth coordination.

  • Q&A Performance: Ability to respond to judges’ questions and concerns

Important Points:

  • No team shall be allowed to make any changes to the PPT once submitted.

  • Each team will get 8 minutes to present their slides.

  • Participants will receive an alert at 7 minutes and then a long bell at the end of 8th minute.

  • The Presenters shall not be allowed to continue after 8 minutes.

  • The pitch will be followed by a Q&A session with the judges.
